A roof-specific panel layout
Orientation, shade, obstructions, condition and safe access are checked before the array is fixed.

Solar PV and battery systems for Scottish homes and organisations
Want to buy less electricity? A free FLO survey checks your roof and when you use power to see whether solar panels, a battery or both may work for your building.

Start here
Start with the result you need. FLO will establish the suitable system size during the assessment.
Assess the roof, electricity use, panel layout, generation and complete installation.
Plan a home solar system02Match roof capacity to daytime demand, site constraints and the investment case.
Plan commercial solar03Check whether storage fits your solar surplus, tariff, peak demand or resilience requirement.

Designed from evidence
Roof area tells only part of the story. FLO considers shade, orientation, roof condition, safe access, half-hourly or billed electricity use, future EV or heat-pump demand, grid limits and the case for a battery before finalising the design.
Orientation, shade, obstructions, condition and safe access are checked before the array is fixed.
Generation, on-site use and export assumptions are connected to the building’s actual electricity pattern.
Inverter, battery, protection, cable routes, distribution work, monitoring and grid requirements stay visible.
FLO project photography
FLO’s own installation photography shows the range of roofs, access arrangements and on-site decisions behind a finished solar system.

The panel layout has to balance usable area, shade, appearance, fixing zones and electrical design.

Scaffold, roof condition, lifting and cable routes belong in the project scope from the start.

A battery or time-of-use tariff can help, but only when it matches surplus generation and demand.
Your FLO assessment and quote
FLO assesses the property first, explains what we recommend and puts the proposed system, installation work, price, exclusions and aftercare in writing.
Request a free solar surveyThe assessment records usable roof area, direction, shade, condition, access and any structural checks still needed.
Your quote shows the generation estimate, how much you may use on site, likely export and the electricity data behind it.
Panels, inverter, battery if suitable, mounting, scaffold, cable routes, distribution-board work and network requirements are listed.
FLO explains the monitoring, commissioning, grid paperwork, certificates, warranties and ongoing support.

Solar PV generates from daylight, not heat. Annual yield varies by location, roof and shade, so a site-specific forecast is more useful than a national average.
No. A battery is most useful where it can capture regular surplus, shift use to cheaper periods or support a defined resilience need.
Solar can offset part of a heat pump's annual electricity demand, especially shoulder-season and hot-water loads, but winter heat demand and solar output do not fully coincide.
