Free home heat-pump survey

Could a heat pump work in your home?

Every home is different. FLO checks your current heating, radiators, hot water and possible outdoor space so you can see whether a heat pump is worth planning—and what the work could involve.

Free to request. No need to choose a heat-pump model first.

Inside the free survey

What will FLO check at your home?

A postcode or an old boiler size cannot answer this. The survey looks at how your home is heated now and what a new system would have to do.

01

How much heat does your home need?

We look at the rooms, insulation, windows and any areas that are hard to keep warm. This helps establish the heat demand a system would need to meet.

02

Can your current radiators do the job?

We check the heating distribution, including radiators, pipework and controls. Some homes need changes; others may not need every radiator replaced.

03

How will you get hot water?

We ask how your household uses hot water and look at the space for a suitable cylinder or another proposed solution.

04

Where could the equipment go?

We review potential outdoor positions, access, drainage, pipe routes and the electrical supply before proposing a layout.

Your decision, made clearer

What will you learn from the survey?

It is an initial assessment of your home, not a promise of a final system size, grant or price on the spot.

01

Is it worth taking forward?

Understand whether a heat pump looks practical for your home and what needs a closer check.

02

What might need changing?

Identify likely radiator, hot-water, electrical or location issues before they turn into surprises in a quote.

03

What happens next?

If the route looks suitable, FLO can explain the detailed design and written proposal needed before installation.

If it looks promising

FLO can take the findings into detailed heat-loss calculations, system design and a written installation quote. You see the proposed work and price before deciding whether to proceed.

Before we visit

What should you tell FLO?

Just start with your address and what you want to improve. If you have any of these, they help the conversation—but you can request a survey without them.

Questions homeowners ask

What if my home is not straightforward?

Older houses, mixed radiators and limited outside space need a property-specific answer, not an automatic “yes” or “no”.

Do I need an EPC before FLO visits?

An EPC can be useful background, but it does not replace looking at your rooms and existing heating. Tell us if you have one; you can still enquire without it.

Does my home need to be fully insulated first?

Not as a blanket rule. Heat loss affects the system design, so the survey should identify where insulation or draught reduction would make a meaningful difference.

Will I have to replace all my radiators?

Not necessarily. The answer depends on each room's heat demand and what its current radiator can deliver at the proposed water temperature.

Will the free survey give me a final price and running cost?

The survey is the starting point. A final installation scope and price need a detailed design and written quote. Running costs also depend on your home, how you use the system and your electricity tariff.
