For eligible Scottish homeowners
Could the Home Energy Scotland grant and loan help pay for your heat pump?
Start by finding out what your home can support. FLO's free home energy survey checks the property, heating and proposed system, then prepares the technical details and quote you may need.

Could this scheme fit you?
Is this funding worth exploring for your home?
The main route is for an existing Scottish property that you own and live in as your only or main private residence. FLO can assess the home and proposed system; Home Energy Scotland makes the funding decision.
It is a second home, the work has already started or the proposed equipment may not meet the current rules.

Home Energy Scotland questions
What else should you know before applying?
Check the answers that matter for your home, then confirm the current rules with Home Energy Scotland.
Do I need to receive benefits to apply?+
The current official scheme page says no. The core route is for eligible homeowners in Scotland whose existing property is their only or main private residence.
How much support is available for a heat pump?+
The current headline is up to £7,500 grant funding, plus an optional interest-free loan of up to £7,500. An extra £1,500 grant uplift may apply to eligible rural and island homes.
Can I get a grant for a replacement heat pump?+
The current terms say replacement heat pumps are not eligible for grant funding, although an interest-free loan of up to £7,500 may be available. Confirm the live position with Home Energy Scotland.
Does the scheme provide a standard solar PV grant?+
The current public funding table does not list standalone solar PV grant funding. It lists loan-only support for solar thermal and hybrid solar PV/water-heating systems. Check the live table before treating any solar measure as funded.
What about insulation, window, roof or central-heating grants?+
There is no single grant for every home improvement. Home Energy Scotland lists specific energy-efficiency measures with their own conditions. Ask its advisers what may apply to your home. FLO does not install windows, roofs or insulation.
Can a private landlord use this homeowner route?+
Do not assume so. The main grant-and-loan eligibility page is framed around the owner’s only or main private residence. Private landlords should contact Home Energy Scotland for the current private-rented-sector routes.
